Pond Liners

Once you have finished digging a hole for your pond, you want the water to stay and in order to accomplish this you must place a barrier against the ground. The pond liner is the foundation of the pond. You want to make sure that it is safe for aquatic life and that it has a good warranty and reputation such as Firestone PondGard.

Please never use a roofing liner, These liners are treated with a chemical algaecide that is toxic to fish and plants.

The first barrier liner you want to place down is called underlayment. Over time this  underlayment liner is better then using sand or newspaper, because the fibers of the pond underlayment liner will stop, trap and cushion the edges of rocks before they puncture the liner. If you skimp on the amount of sand, the weight of the water will cause rocks to puncture the pond liner, paper or carpet squares will disappear over the years.

Don't skimp on your foundation or you might be rebuilding your pond in 4 to 6 years.  More Info...

The FlexForm pond liners look like the traditional small black hard shell ponds that you would purchase at the local garden center.  These are so flexible that we are able to roll them up for shipping.  They come complete with plant shelves is a variety of sizes and shapes.
